Groundwork & Materials

Engineered for ocean salt and sand

Building within four hundred metres of the coastline required bored concrete pier footings to secure stable bearing through loose dune sand. All structural connections incorporate grade 316 stainless steel assemblies and non-combustible vapor barriers.

The masonry program paired quarry-sourced Tamala limestone with clean off-form slab edges. Direct principal oversight ensured continuous inspection across the framing milestones, maintaining tight three-millimetre shadow-line joints throughout the main living pavilion.
